Yes, I agree with what you've said, but the way the limit is now allows players to get through any legal wall, and frankly that's all they need to do.
I myself use 240s unless they're regen roof is set up wrong/nonexistent, but the point is still that you don't need a tnt limit higher than 1k xD
It really depends on how you're calculating it, but by the usual 1.151 multiplier and 254 sand, your hammer comes up to 292.354 tnt,...

Adding more hammer shouldn't be a problem, since all the hammer should be there in the first place. Hammers are usually as efficient as possible...
